At Fubhub we love to help our ladies promote their businesses!
We’ll be shining a spotlight on one of our members each month.
This month we caught up with Trish Lyons, owner of Signage & Print Ltd.
What do you do?
Signs for businesses, all bespoke – including backlit, vehicles vinyls and windows, office wallpaper, directional signs and point of sale items and displays. Basically anything that can bring your branding to life!
How long have you been doing it?
12 years in all different sectors. Prior to that I worked in advertising which was just a smaller version really.
What kind of projects are you working on right now?
I’m currently working with a few new independent local shops in new ventures, it’s so important to me that I get it smooth and right as I’ve been there in the new unknown scary part!
I’m also producing signage for Wigan Youth Zone, and some new look backlit signs for our fab Wigan Armed Forces HQ. Hopefully these will be fitted in time for our Fubhub meeting being held there on 11th August.
Other current projects include expo stands, one-way visible window graphics, golf flags and outdoor pop-ups, Wigan Vodaphone PRIDE selfie frames, and fitting some aluminium signs for Central Cleaning. I’m made up to be doing the signage for Norbrook Youth Club, plus I get to work with Attain – Jackie and I can picnic lunch in Wythenshawe park! Haha!
I’ve also got a new venture into acrylic domed labels for phone and router systems etc, and shh, dare I say it, hopefully I’ll be starting to look at Christmas decorations for the shopping malls later this month!
What is your favourite part of your job?
Getting to know my clients, (I’m a spinster with a smelly cat, friends are few) No, seriously – it’s the best way to get to understand what they want, need and what will work for them. Getting goals and desires to match needs can be a minefield, and budgets are important – there’s usually a way to achieve something that ticks most boxes, and I love exceeding expectations, it’s a buzz factor!
What do you enjoy doing outside of your job?
Eating is my biggest hobby! I love being at the farm, riding at least 2-3 times a week, hours of adventures riding around Haigh, Aspull, Amberswood and Rabbit Rocks, and I walk my local woods most nights too.
I’m happy doing pretty much anything in good company, THAT’S WHAT MATTERS! From playing on the B&Q trolleys to cocktails on roof tops, love a good National Trust history tour, hop on bus tours, I guess I just like listening to people’s stories!
Why do you attend Fubhub?
Where do I start? I love this group – it is everything you can want or need – not just a “networking group” but a supportive, friendly and fun group too!
I’ve met so many amazing people here, and that’s not just me being sickly nice, it’s genuine!
Just look at the characters, it’s a perfect bag of Pick ‘n’ Mix! (Got me on food again!) We have loud and quiet, brave and gentle, a real WOW variety wealth of knowledge, and we urge each other to thrive as Women in Business.
I do lots of networking and there’s only 3 groups I really try my best not to miss, yes you guessed it – Fubhub, which I call FuN hub is one of them!
I’m in a very male dominated industry, and miss working with strong supportive fun women, I class the Fubhub as an extension to my business – they provide me with advice, encouragement, ideas, solutions and introductions, and sometimes when needed a kick up the backside! I class most of the ladies as friends now over the years, So THANK YOU fun filled FUBHUB ladies!
