Here at FubHub, we have recently introduced £20 guest speaker slots at our networking events, with all proceeds going to great local charities!
And we are pleased to announce this month’s speaker is…our lovely founder, Sue France!
Setting the way for how it’s done, Sue was put through her paces about business and what she stands for in our latest interview:

Tell me about yourself and your business:
Well, I’m Sue France (as in the country!), but my friends call me Suzie, Mrs F, Frenchie, Peggy, Pegatha, Wonga or Wongy to name a few!
And I’m the Business Development Manager at ATTAIN: A digital and design marketing agency based in Wigan. Alongside working at ATTAIN, I host FUBHUB. The female-only networking group, I founded in 2016 to support local women in business.
Why did you decide to start FubHub?
It all started after few years of networking; when I came to the realisation that people buy from people.
Initially, I took a self-agenda-driven approach to networking. Attending to meet people to advance my career. But quickly I learnt networking is so much more than that and I created lifelong friends at these events – and would even attend for leisure.
There’s no denying that networking groups are a haven for self-development, and business opportunities – but for me, I find it so much more rewarding to give something back.
Not necessarily a sales lead or piece of business, but a smile, a reassurance, a piece of advice, a supportive hand… just something positive.
So, that’s why, when I noticed a gap in the market for a female-only networking group in Wigan: I jumped at the chance.
With the help of four local businesses, FUBHUB (Females Uniting in Business Hub) was born and is still going strong, six years later.
FubHub has been an incremental hub for women to support women in business. The monthly events allow local women to meet other like-minded women in the area: seek support, shout about their businesses and get ahead in their careers. From these introductions, we know that business has taken place directly with each other and with their connections.
Additionally, as a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to helping the local community and raising money for local charities.
And currently, we are fundraising for The Brick: Which offers a huge range of services to people in the Wigan & Leigh borough who are homeless, in poverty or facing a debt crisis. Donations are welcome here.
I hope this information has given you a little introduction to FUBHUB. I would love to see you at one of our future events. To book your place, go to www.fubhub.co.uk
