What do you do?
I am Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager for Wigan Youth Zone, a Charity supporting the needs of young people across Wigan and Leigh
How long have you been doing it?
Five years!
What kind of projects are you working on right now?
Currently I am focusing on the sustainability of Wigan Youth Zone, ensuring we are able to carry on the vital and life changing work we do well into the future, so quite a few projects are in progress at the moment. They all focus on raising the profile and awareness of the work Wigan Youth Zone does as well as engaging with the business and wider community.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Meeting and getting to know the businesses that help to make it possible for the Youth Zone to provide a fun safe environment for the young people of Wigan and Leigh.
What do you enjoy doing outside of your job?
Getting together with the family for BBQs etc. I’ve just started a new garden project and I also enjoy getting taken for a walk by our German Shepherd Jessie!
Why do you attend Fubhub?
The room is full of ladies from all businesses and backgrounds, ready to share their experiences and help everyone in any way they can. There’s always a lot of laughter and definitely no two meetings are the same. I have made some great friends and business colleagues over my time at Fubhub and am looking forward to meeting many more.
