At Fubhub we love to help our ladies promote their businesses!
We’ll be shining a spotlight on one of our members each month.
This month we caught up with Eileen Vizard, Financial Director of EnergyAce.
What do you do?
I am the Financial Director of a company that manufactures energy saving products for the industrial and commercial sector.
How long have you been doing it?
We set the business up in January 2002 and it will be 20 years old in January next year. Prior to setting up the business, I worked in Local Authority Finance for almost 20 years.
What kind of projects are you working on right now?
The number of projects on the go at the moment are too many to mention, although we are about to launch a new ecommerce website in the next few weeks making it easier for customers to purchase the products we sell online. By the end of the year, we will be switching the whole business onto a new ERP system which will run the whole process, from initial enquiry right through to invoicing, giving us real time information at every step of the way.
What is your favourite part of your job?
As a small business every day is different, and I enjoy the challenges that this brings. Working on new projects that support the infrastructure and efficiency of the business is something I love doing.
What do you enjoy doing outside of your job?
My mission at the moment is to visit every European city over the next few years although covid has set me back a few months! Hopefully in the new year we can get some more city breaks booked. Spending time with family and friends is also very important to me, covid has been hard for everyone, and it makes me appreciate what we have missed over the last 18 months. To relax I enjoy swimming, playing squash and reading, although I am not very good at squash! But I enjoy playing and only took this up recently.
Why do you attend Fubhub?
Working in a male environment can leave you feeling very isolated. Fubhub has helped me connect with local women in business and make new friends. Networking is not something that comes naturally to me, the group are very welcoming and friendly and I am glad that I challenged myself to join. Networking is not about selling, it’s about making new friends and connections and sharing best practices.
