Fubhub is turning 10, and we’re planning a very special celebration to mark a decade of bringing women in business together across Wigan Borough.
On Wednesday 14th October 2026, Fubhub will celebrate its 10th birthday at its Wigan home, The Brick Community Stadium, with a day of networking, business showcases, lunch, fashion with the people who have been part of the Fubhub journey. We’re also delighted that our 10th anniversary celebrations are being proudly sponsored by MBH Solicitors, whose support is helping us make this milestone event one to remember.
Fubhub was founded in Wigan in 2016 by Sue France, who recognised a need for a different kind of networking group for local women in business. The idea was to create a welcoming, informal but professional environment where women could make genuine business connections, share experiences, learn from one another and support each other.
Over the past decade, hundreds of women have walked through our doors. Businesses have been introduced, referrals have been made, collaborations have begun and friendships have formed. We’ve welcomed an incredible range of guest speakers, celebrated the achievements of our members and, most recently, expanded Fubhub with the launch of our Leigh group.
Our 10th birthday gives us the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together and celebrate just how far Fubhub has come.The celebrations will begin with a special anniversary edition of Fubhub Fusion.
Fusion takes our traditional networking format and adds an opportunity for businesses to showcase what they do. Local businesses, exhibitors and supporters will come together for a morning of networking, introductions and collaboration, with plenty of opportunities to discover businesses from across the borough.
Whether you want to meet new contacts, catch up with familiar faces, discover a new supplier or simply enjoy being part of the occasion, the morning will be very much in true Fubhub style – friendly, informal and focused on making worthwhile business connections.
Following Fubhub Fusion, we’ll sit down together for a special 10th anniversary lunch. This will be our opportunity to look back at some of the people, moments and memories that have shaped Fubhub since 2016 and recognise those who have supported us along the way. From founding members and long-standing supporters to women who may only recently have discovered Fubhub, this celebration belongs to everyone who has played a part in our story. And, because this is Fubhub, we couldn’t let our 10th birthday pass without doing something a little bit different, so we’ll finish the day with our Fubhub 10th Anniversary Fashion Show, created in collaboration with some fantastic organisations from across the borough.
We want the catwalk to represent the Fubhub community itself, with familiar faces from across the last ten years getting involved and helping us finish the celebrations in style.
